Motorbike insurance for disabled riders

Bikesure and Conquest Trikes join forces to help disabled riders.

Conquest Trikes, who specialise in building trikes based around BMW 1150 for disabled riders has joined up with the motorbike insurance company Bikesure. This will give disabled riders more choice on where to get insurance.

The trikes built by Conquest Trikes based around the BMW 1150 are not your ordinary trikes, they are capable of 0 to 60 in under seven seconds - comparable with a lot of the two wheeled bikes!

The trikes are customised to provide the riders with access ramps and hand-operated gear changes among many other customised and bespoke features. Because the bikes are so specialist it has often been hard to find insurance for them, even via the larger insurers.

Motorcyle insurer, Churchill, have seen an increase in demand for motorbike insurance, particularly since the introduction of the congestion charge and motorcycling appeals to lots of different people from commuters to scooters and sports bike riders.

However when buying insurance, whether for any sort of motorbike it is essential to give the correct details. Mileage is one area that riders tend to over estimate as they base it on the car mileage, however as bikes are often a secondary mode of transport mileage is often far less.
